These support groups are for family members, friends, and coworkers of those who have died by suicide. Minimum age for our general SOSL Support Groups is 14. Our Teen SOS Group is open to adolescents, ages 13-19. All meetings are free of charge and led by trained facilitators. You do not need to sign up ahead of time.
“The best thing about being involved in a SOSL (Survivors of Suicide Loss) support group is realizing that I’m absolutely not alone in this immense pain. I knew there would be others there who had also lost a child to suicide, but I needed to connect with other mothers. No one else, beside other mothers who’ve lost a child to suicide, can totally understand how truly devastating it really is for a mother. I found understanding, support and an arena to talk about my special form of grief to people who understand the pain of losing a child to suicide.
From the support I received, I was able to move forward in a healthy way and then move onto helping others who’ve gone through the same things as I. I strongly recommend attending support groups for survivors of suicide loss. It brought me out of the depths of despair to a much better place where I can now talk about my experience to others and support them while they also move toward a better place of understanding and HOPE.”
