These support groups are for family members, friends, and coworkers of those who have died by suicide. Minimum age for our general SOSL Support Groups is 14. These Drop-In groups are led by other survivors of suicide loss. You do not need to sign up ahead of time.
“The best thing about being involved in a SOSL (Survivors of Suicide Loss) support group is realizing that I’m absolutely not alone in this immense pain. I knew there would be others there who had also lost a child to suicide, but I needed to connect with other mothers. No one else, beside other mothers who’ve lost a child to suicide, can totally understand how truly devastating it really is for a mother. I found understanding, support and an arena to talk about my special form of grief to people who understand the pain of losing a child to suicide.
From the support I received, I was able to move forward in a healthy way and then move onto helping others who’ve gone through the same things as I. I strongly recommend attending support groups for survivors of suicide loss. It brought me out of the depths of despair to a much better place where I can now talk about my experience to others and support them while they also move toward a better place of understanding and HOPE.”
– Jenny W., Survivor of Suicide Loss
The 6-week Grief Support Group is open to anyone who has lost someone to suicide. These weekly groups are more structured than the Drop-In Groups, and are led by a licensed Counselor. This group is based on the teachings of Dr. Alan Wolfelt and his “Companioning Model”. This Group takes place weekly for 75-90 minutes and a light meal is provided. Our next group will begin on Tuesday March 3rd, 2026 and continue for the next 5 consecutive Tuesdays, each group starting at 6:00pm-7:30pm.
